Charlotte County, FL- August 16, 2021

The Department of Health for Charlotte County has categorized the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office as an outbreak location for COVID-19. This is due to a large number of our members testing positive for the virus. Last week, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office had 20 positive tests, and so far today, we have had eight more. In August, we had a total number of 34 COVID-19 positive cases. Before this month, February 2021 had the most significant number of positive cases at 25.

The Charlotte County Health Department is recommending that we follow all CDC guidelines and to take the proper precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. Therefore, at this time, the CCSO is suspending all fingerprinting services offered to the public. We will also be postponing our upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy classes slated to begin in early September and our Agency Awards Ceremonies.

All of our District Office lobbies will continue to operate under normal conditions with hours being Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm. However, for business that does not need in-person contact, please call 941-639-0013 for assistance.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to serve the public with a professional approach even in the most challenging times. Our aim is to safeguard our citizens and our members as we navigate these unprecedented times. As always, we appreciate your patience.
