SARASOTA – The Sarasota Herald Tribune printing press is ceasing local print operations.

The Goss Metroliner printing press located in a modified 106,000 square foot warehouse at 1800 University Parkway was state of the art production and an amazing example of mass production. 
Since 1983 copies of the Herald-Tribune have printed through machinery. According to the Herald Tribune, the printing press will complete its final press run Sunday night and go dark forever.  Close to 100mpress jobs are being eliminated. 
This is not the end of the print version for the Herald-Tribune. Dedicated readers cans still get their newsprint everyday, delivered to residential doorsteps or local stores. Sarasota, daily editions will come from remote printing operations in Stuart. The decision came as a result o Cost-cutting decisions by the company.
