Coronavirus Update Official Statement – 2020 Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival
“Staff and board members of Suncoast Charities for Children are currently working closely with local & state government officials to review options related to postponing the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Race from its original scheduled date of June 28, 2020. These discussions also include the possible postponement of the July 4th Bayfront Fireworks. Our primary focus is centered around current CDC guidelines, as well as future CD guidelines, once the President reopens our country for normal business. It is important for our charity to abide by all future national/state/local governmental guidelines governing all outdoor special events. It is necessary for Suncoast Charities for Children to maintain financial flexibility in order to respond and continue supporting six local non-profit agencies who provide critical programs and services to children, teens, and adults with special needs. It is our hope, that by early May, we will be able to make an official announcement. We appreciate your patience as this is a very fluid situation impacting everyone.”
