CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (March 19, 2020) – Offices of the Charlotte County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector are closed until further notice.
A message posted on the tax collector’s website stated: “The safety of our customers and staff is the highest priority for the Charlotte County Tax Collector. While the lobbies are closed to the public, we still have staff available to process transactions. All customers can continue to complete transactions online, by mail or by phone. We will continue to monitor the situation and will re-evaluate public access to all our office locations.”
ExpressLane transactions and tax deed redemptions can be processed at the Olean Boulevard location drive-through. The office also is offering services by mail or by drop box. Drop boxes are available at all tax collector locations and mail fees have been waived. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has extended the expiration dates of driver licenses and ID cards expiring March 16 through April 15, 2020.

A message on the property appraiser’s website stated: “To minimize the current health risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and to keep our customers and staff members safe, our office is following the Centers for Disease Control’s social distancing best practices recommendations and closing public walk-in services at all our office locations until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and would encourage taxpayers to utilize online services through our website www.ccappraiser.com or call our office for assistance during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).
