A 47-year-old man was arrested for animal cruelty after witnesses saw him repeatedly punch his dog. Chris Trapuzzano told police that he had run out of gas and that his dog was acting playful while they were walking to get gas in the area of 10th Street in Palmetto last week. Trappuzano told police that he was frustrated for being stranded and the dog’s behavior got to him. The dog was taken in Manatee County Animal Services.
