The Florida state House has passed a bill that would have Florida remain in Daylight Saving Time throughout the year. That would allow the state to remain lighter while some other parts of the country set their clocks back each fall. The passage will help tourism, some say, while others would have more daylight after a traditional work day. The Senate version of the bill calls for moving the entire state into the Eastern time zone. The Northwest part of Florida is in the Central time zone.
