Did you know today is an election day for voters in the 72nd House District? Judging by early voting returns…it doesn’t look like many people do. Elections officials say so far, less than 25 percent of all eligible voters have cast a ballot.

Democrat Margaret Good, Libertarian Alison Foxall, and Republican James Buchanan are all running for the seat vacated when Alex Miller resigned just months into her term.

A poll released yesterday by St Pete Polls showed Good leading 48-45 percent over Buchanan, with Foxall picking up just 4 percent of the vote. For years, the 72nd District has been reliably Republican and has a GOP advantage of nearly 40,000 registered voters over Democrats. That same poll showed 17% of those who said they were Republicans…were not voting for Buchanan.
