Siesta Key attorney Margaret Good has won the Democratic primary for the 72nd District House seat. She’ll face off against a pair of challengers in the Feb. 13 general election. Republican James Buchanan and Libertarian Alison Foxall are also in the race. Buchanan is the son of U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, who is one of the richest members of Congress. He has $170K in cash on hand, while Foxall has just under $8900. The District 72 seat became available when former GOP state Rep. Alex Miller unexpectedly resigned in September. Gov. Rick Scott called a special election to fill the seat. Buchanan had been running for the 71st District seat initially, but changed when Miller resigned.
