Florida gas prices averaged $2.47 on Sunday after declining 7 cents during the past week. Locally, gas around Punta Gorda dropped nearly a dime from a week ago. The state average has declined for the last 31 consecutive days, falling a total of 25 cents. Although Florida gas prices are 25 cents less than a month ago, the state average remains 22 cents higher than this time last year. Locally, gas prices yesterday ranged from between $2.19 in Venice up to $2.33 in Punta Gorda.
