A Texas contractor arrested in North Port has been extradited back to Texas on charges that he cheated a homeowner out of paid-for work. Aaron Sagel was arrested earlier this summer, facing a charge of theft. Since he was released from jail in June, however, the local district attorney’s office in Killeen, Texas has now said the case is a civil matter, not a criminal one. Sagel had also been charged with stealing a number of air conditioning units, and was released from jail in that case, on the condition that he did not leave Bell County, Texas. That’s when, police said, Sagel left and wound up in North Port. He claims he moved here for a job, not to run from law enforcement.
