The wife of Allman Brothers founding member Dickey Betts, Donna Betts, is now spending 30 days in jail and must write an apology letter as part of her sentence for pointing a rifle at members of the Sarasota Crew rowing team. The 62-year old Betts reported to jail last week after she pled no contest to one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. Betts had been charged with 18 counts of aggravated assault after the March 27 incident where she threatened the crew members who were near her property line in Osprey.
