Water service has been restored to customers within Venice city limits. However, city customers are under a boil water advisory for 72 hours for drinking and cooking purposes, or until the boil water notice has been rescinded. Utilities officials are hopeful that by late afternoon Wednesday, Sept. 13, the notice will be rescinded. Conservation of water is strongly encouraged. A couple of areas in the city are still without water. Utilities crews are working to fix these water lines. Solid Waste collection of garbage and yard waste only in the City of Venice will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Recyclables collection may be later in the week or next week. Prepare to have your garbage and yard waste only to the curb on your next regular pickup day. Yard waste should be bagged, bundled or tied, 40 pound weight limit, with nothing longer than 4 feet. A reminder that sandbags are a homeowner’s responsibility and Solid Waste will not be picking them up.
