The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has put another drug user behind bars. Monday, 25-year-old Dan Mason was pulled over for an expired tag. The deputy, for a reason that is unclear asked Mason if his vehicle could be searched. Mason said no and that’s when the K9 unit conducted a search outside the car. The K9 alerted to the deputy that there may be narcotics inside the vehicle. A search was then conducted and over 14 grams of ecstasy was found. The drug is a synthetic that alters mood and perception by increasing brain activity by three separate chemicals. Daniel was arrested and charged with trafficking more than 10 grams and drug possession and possession of drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Charlotte County jail.
