Rumford Street in Punta Gorda was closed for most of the day Tuesday after detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office were conducting what they called a ‘lengthy’ investigation. The home in question sits at 6200 Rumford Street. No other details were provided to “protect the integrity of the investigation.” Police were initially called to the home Monday morning around 9am. They say the incident is isolated and there was no danger to the surrounding residents or the general public.
