A black market website linked to overdose deaths in Florida has been shut down in an international sting operation. AlphaBay lasted more than two years on the so-called ‘deep web’ for people to buy and sell drugs, weapons, and stolen identities. The U.S. Department of Justice led the operation to seize AlphaBay. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in announcing the shutdown, said that on the site, 122 vendors were selling fentanyl, and 238 were selling heroin. Among the known buyers- one Orange County victim and another in Sarasota County who died from overdoses.
