A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a weekend crash in Punta Gorda. Officials say 40-year old Gary Wayne Bennett was riding his bike on Carmalita Street when he suddenly veered off the roadway. The undercarriage of the bike his the edge of the roadway- when Bennett overcorrected, the motorcycle fishtailed and flipped over. The 40-year old was thrown from the bike and ended up in the street while the bike flew off into a ditch. Barrett was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with critical injuries.
