Members of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit participated in Boat Officer Search and Rescue (BOSAR) training this week in Lee County. The training, hosted by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is a 5 day, 35-hour course used to enhance the safety and response capabilities of the participants and to provide the skills necessary to execute missions safely. This multi-jurisdictional training prepares marine officers to respond as a united force with other area agencies in the event of a search and rescue operation on the water. This training is used to show the the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to providing quality service to its residents and visitors.
