Land owned by the Venice Airport is a very real possibility to be turned into commercial space, potentially hotel and retail. The accommodations would be perfect for travelers who are coming into the area and would allow for convenience to those looking to shop or stay near the airport. There are currently two proposals that the city would hear, one locally from Venice Realty Group and one from a group from Michigan. The council is scheduled to hear the two proposals Wednesday, June 28th and may make a decision if all the pieces fall into place.
