The Braves’ planned move of their spring-training home from Disney to North Port has cleared yet another governmental hurdle. The Sarasota County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to approve an operating agreement that makes clear the terms and conditions for the facility’s use, and also puts in a 30-year non-relocation agreement. The nearly 50-page agreement also sets a target completion date of January of 2019. The 5-0 vote is just the latest in a series of approvals needed before the project can formally begin. The Braves still are waiting on two more signed contracts and state funding to be approved before construction can begin.
