A long-term drug sting in Charlotte County has netted 12 arrests of people the sheriff’s office say are responsible for drug trafficking. Over the course of the past several months, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a long-term investigation into drug activity in the county targeting meth dealers. This investigation then led to the service of a search warrant in Sarasota County in which deputies seized a significant amount of methamphetamines and a large sum of cash. In all, more than 260 grams of meth with a street value of around $50,000 were taken off the streets, in addition to cocaine, pills, marijuana, and two guns.
