VENICE- The developer that wants to build a 103-room Sheraton hotel in Venice said this week an application to the city for review should be coming soon.

Daniel Singh, the president of Encino, California-based Land Developers and Associates Corp., told the Herald-Tribune his company has made some changes to the plan after hearing public comments earlier this month.’

That project would mark the first new hotel within the Venice city limits in nearly 20 years. It would occupy a 1.45-acre site at 775 S. Tamiami Trail, but also back up to six single-family homes on Guild Drive.
