An inmate at the Charlotte County Jail accuses a corrections deputy of putting a satanic curse on him. Todd McGathey claims on a regular basis that he is possessed by demons. In what Deputy Joseph Osinga calls a “lapse in judgment,” he rearranged cards from McGathey’s solitaire game to line up as “666.” However, Osinga denies knowledge of a satanic star drawn in magic marker on McGathey’s cell wall. The deputy also left the cell in a mess following a contriband search. Osinga was suspended for 24 hours and placed on six months probation.
