A charter school in Venice is one of the best public middle schools in Florida. That’s according to the independent website Niche, which assessed metrics including academics, teachers, diversity and culture, and ranked Student Leadership Academy as fourth in excellence among the state’s almost 600 public middle schools. Niche also ranked Student Leadership Academy teachers as 11th best in the state. The Sarasota school district was rated fourth among Florida’s 67 counties.
