The Florida Department of Transportation has announced it will be enhancing safety at the roundabout at Jacaranda Boulevard and East Venice Avenue in Sarasota County, the scene of multiple crashes. Improvements include new pavement markings and signs to assist drivers and adjustments in lane alignment. Construction is scheduled to begin on March 6th and finish in early summer, weather permitting. Nighttime lane closures will be necessary between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. A public information meeting on the Jacaranda Boulevard-Venice Avenue roundabout has been scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. on March 22nd at Woodmere Park in Venice.
