A Charlotte County Jury has found David McMannis guilty of the 2001 murder of Tara Sidarovich, who disappeared from her home on October 1st, 2001. The jury deliberated the case for less than one hour Thursday prior to reaching it’s verdict. Phillip Barr, a co-defendant, was convicted in 2015 for his involvement in Tara’s murder. Sheriff Bill Prummell praised his Cold Case Squad and the State’s Attorney’s Office for their dedication to this investigation and bringing it to a successful close. Said Prummell, “It was a very long and hard road, but hopefully now Tara can rest in peace knowing justice has been served”
