The first semester of school isn’t over for Sarasota County students, but district officials are already making plans for the 2017 and 2018 school years. On Tuesday, the school board voted unanimously to start the next two school years one week earlier than this year: August 14th next year and August 13th in 2018. The 2017-2018 school year is planned to run until before Memorial Day 2018, ending May 24th.
