North Port residents concerned over clear cutting plan to rally next month before a public meeting on the Unified Land Development Code.

The Sun reports an organization called Transition North Port will gather at the northeast corner of Sumter Boulevard and Price Boulevard on Friday, November 4 to keep the issue of clear cutting top of mind.

Current law allows tree cutting so long as the trunk is no more than 30 inches in diameter, but Transition North Port wants that changed to no more than 12 inches.

The Code meeting is set for November 10
