Thousands of dead fish have lined the shores of Englewood Beach on Manasota Key.

FWC says red tide has caused this to happen.

WBBH-TV acknowledges reports of it in Lee and Collier counties, but not as bad as the algae bloom further north.

FWC continues sampling the water up and down the shoreline to determine the bloom’s location.

Many longtime residents call it the worst they have ever seen it.

Red tide remains a bigger problem in Sarasota, and officials have kept an eye on it to see whether or not it moves south.
