Sarasota Police have asked for help in stopping the region’s heroin epidemic.
The department says 44 people in the city have overdosed on heroin since July, and eight of them have died.
Police also say they keep responding to more calls because of fentanyl use.
Anyone with any information on heroin use in the city should contact the police department’s narcotics unit.
