Several Sarasota County deputies yesterday volunteered to honor three veterans who had died.
These veterans did not have any family or friends attending their funerals at Sarasota National Cemetery.
A group of deputies stood up to honor the service of 88-year-old Laberne Behrens, 84-year-old Gerald Stern, and 65-year-old Stanley Pablo.
The Patriot Guard also attended the funerals, arriving in a convoy carrying American flags.
