The town council in Fort Myers Beach meets this evening to decide on the “Now or Neverglades” declaration.
This declaration urges state leaders to buy land south of Lake Okeechobee.
Buying the land would allow water to flow south instead of east and west.
Several businesses across South Florida support the declaration.
