The National Hurricane Center now follows two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic.

The newer one sits 1,700 miles east-southeast of the Leeward Islands.

Forecasters have given it a 30 percent chance of forming into a tropical cyclone over the next few days.

Meanwhile, a second disturbance remains off the African coast. It sits 350 miles south-southeast of Cabo Verde.

The center has given it a 40 percent change of developing further.
