An Englewood man has received 20 years in prison for his son’s death on Christmas Eve.

The judge has also sentenced 31-year-old Rick Dearman to complete an anger management course and 10 years of probation.

The Herald-Tribune describes it as the maximum punishment.

It all follows last month’s guilty plea to aggravated manslaughter.

Dearman’s six-year-old son Jimmy died after Dearman his girlfriend Ashley Cole apparently sat on him.

They supposedly did this to punish child after he and sister made noises in their bedroom.

Authorities say Dearman and Cole sat on the boy with his face near the back cushions of a couch.
