Two people died in a boating accident Saturday afternoon on Lake Manatee.
FWC responded after waves caused a canoe to capsize near the middle of it.
A boater nearby rescued 36-year-old Juan Gomez as he clung to the canoe.
A witness says the water took two other men to the bottom of the lake.
The sheriff’s office recovered the bodies of 29-year-old Ivan Torres and 44-year-old Julian Palma.
Officials say the canoe did not have floatation devices or safety equipment.
