FWC continues investigating the discovery of a body in Punta Gorda.
It says officials pulled it out of the water at Burnt Store Marina yesterday afternoon.
Investigators believe the body could belong to a North Port man who disappeared during a fishing trip last week.
The Coast Guard on Saturday suspended the search for 62-year-old Jim Winkler.
His boat surfaced on the northern end of Pine Island on Friday morning.
Someone last saw Winkler on Thursday at the El Jobean boat ramp.
He lived 10 minutes from there.
Crews worked eight-hour shifts to Winkler, but mangroves and shallow areas in the water made the search tough.
