Precautions against the Zika virus continue.

Sun Newspapers report Mosquito Control has already sprayed 13,000 acres in Charlotte County this month.

The closest report of the virus stems from the Lee County side of Gasparilla Island.

Florida now has 21 cases reported, with most of them in the southeastern part of the state.

All of the people infected have picked up the virus while visiting the Caribbean or Central and South America.

If a mosquito bites you and you begin to feel feverish, then call the state health department’s Zika information hotline at (855) 622-6735.
