Numbers big and small are lower across southwest Florida. Triple-A reports that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market has dropped to $2.05, down eight cents from last week ahead of one of the busiest travel days of the year, when nearly 47 million Americans expects to drive more than 50 miles from home. Speaking of home, monthly sales of existing homes in the Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte county region dropped by 4.4 percent in October compared to last year. However, overall sales remain on-track to set a second-straight sales record by year’s end, and prices themselves continue trending upward, due largely to limited supply.
