36-year-old Jason Bridwell Tobin of Sarasota has been charged with felony DUI after he allegedly struck a bicyclist on South Tamiami Trail in Venice yesterday, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Tobin was arrested after fleeing the scene of the incident, abandoning his vehicle in a nearby neighborhood, and then continuing on foot. The bicyclist was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
