Gov. Rick Scott was on hand in Bradenton today to help launch a new construction project on I-75 aimed at increasing traffic capacity and flow through the area. The $74.5 million project will feature Florida’s first diverging diamond interchange where I-75 and University Parkway come together, and it will bring over 500 jobs to the area while I-75 is widened to eight mainline lanes. Bridges will be rebuilt, and noise walls will be added. The project is scheduled to last until September 2017.
