A sheriff’s department spokesperson says members of the Narcotics, Street Crimes and Warrants Unit had the two homes, one in Port Charlotte, the other in Punta Gorda, under surveillance for over 2 months. They say they spotted 45-year old Jose Menendez and 28-year old Diamilis Rodriguez regularly visiting the two houses. Deputies showed up at both homes Friday with warrants. They siezed 52-cannabis plants, weighing about 295 pounds at the house in Port Charlotte, and 9-plants, weighing 124 pounds, at the Punts Gorda grow house. Menendez and Rodriguez were arrested and face charges including Trafficking in a controlled substance and cultivation of cannabis.
