Murdock was the scene of a purse-snatching in broad daylight. NBC2 reports that the incident occurred in front of the Books-A-Million store on Highway 41 when a man ran up behind Patricia Lopes and grabbed her purse. The strap broke, and the crook got away. Lopes’ two children were with her, but no one was hurt. The robber got away with credit cards and medical information for the kids but dropped an envelope full of cash that was recovered. At latest check, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the suspect.
