You can now put a sticker on the front door of your home letting emergency workers know there’s a pet on the premises. Brian Jones of Charlotte County Animal Rescue tells NBC2 on more than one occasion, he’s seen people evacuate because of heat, weather, or fire, and their pets get been left behind. The sticker’s the work of Charlotte County Fire & EMS and Peace River K9 Search and Rescue.
Tne new stickers are available on line or at the Public Safety Complex. There’s a $3 donation that goes to the county’s animal trust.
