They’ll be looking for speeders the entire length of Taylor Road in Punta Gorda and along Veterans Boulevard between U.S. 41 and Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Traffic light enforcement will be stepped up at the intersections of U.S. 41 and Murdock Circle and State Route 776, El Jobean Road and Flamingo Boulevard in Port Charlotte. The latest numbers from the State Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, show 18-vehicle deaths so far this year in Charlotte County compared to 10-at this time last year.
