Numbers released by Florida Realtors yesterday showed buyers closed on over 2560 existing single family homes and condo’s in Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee counties last month, up just over 200 from May of last year. The Herald-Tribune reports prices for those homes have continued to climb with the the number of available homes falling. The median home price in Sarasota-Manatee was $240,000 last month up over 14% from a year ago; and $172,000 in Charlotte County, up over 9.5% from a year ago. Condo prices were up 21% in Charlotte County to $168,400 from last year and up 13.5% in Sarasota-Manatee to $189,000.
