Sarasota County Commissioners decided today they’re not ready to merge SCAT with Manatee County’s transit system. The Herald-Tribune reports commissioners say until staff completes an internal review of bus operations late next year. An Illinois company’s proposed merging the two transit systems with promises of cost savings to both counties. Manatee County Commissioners approved further study of the TransDev Services, Inc. proposal.
