Turtles may use calendars.

As soon as April turned into May, their nests started appearing along the coast.

NBC2 reports one turtle laid her eggs at the northern end of the Englewood Beach parking lot just past the beach entrance on Friday.

A volunteer found it Saturday morning and cordoned off the area for its protection.

Any disturbance to a nest can give another animal a chance to devour the eggs.

It takes two months for them to hatch.
