Charlotte County Fire and EMS say they’ve contained a brush fire reported earlier this afternoon. NBC2 reports it was in Port Charlotte near Jaeger Avenue and McCabe Street. Several engines were sent to the scene. A fire spokesperson says about 5 acres was scorched. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
