A Jacksonville man’s been arrested by Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies for allegedly stealing over $250,000 from a 91-year-old Carmelite Catholic priest. According to the Herald-Tribune, the
priest reported multiple fraudulent transactions on his Raymond James and Wells Fargo financial accounts. Deputies say 56-year Chris Crisafulli had gotten limited power of attorney of one of the alleged victim’s accounts and then added himself as a joint account owner on the other. Crisafulli’s admitted using the money for his personal use and is charged with felony exploitation of the elderly and is free on $20,000 bond.
