The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says there’s a new phone scam. Someone’s been calling residents claiming they’re with the sheriff’s office and that you have to pay a fine for missing grand jury duty. An office spokesperson says the caller threatens them with arrest if they don’t immedidately pay a fine for the violation. It Is A SCAM! Hang up and contact the sheriff’s department immediately if you get such a cal, do NOT give them any bank information.
