The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is back at Venice Beach, again. They are dredging sand from offshore to replace several miles of shoreline that have eroded over the last decade. The Herald-Tribune reports crews are working around the clock to restore about 150-feet of shoreline along 3.2-miles of beach, from the South Jetty to just south of Brohard Park, before April 15th, which is the start of turtle nesting season. The project will widen available beach area which is a big deal for the City of Venice with the beach being a huge part of the tourism business.
